Master's degree in architecture and historical heritage (marph)

Edition 2016-2017 (marph-17), Eleventh Edition as official degrees adapted to the European higher education area (EHEA). It has six previous editions as a degree from the University of Seville, from 1995, Since the result of continued collaboration between the University and the Ministry of culture of Andalusia.

The titling affects in an important line strategic of work professional and of research, both national as European: the historical heritage and its treatment based structured in the first instance in the architectural work. The heritage property is addressed primarily, characterized by its architectural dimension and member qualified heritage and European socio-cultural reality. Is is also of an objective teaching and research characteristic of the universities Spanish and European, due to the permanent requirement for renewal of practices related to the protection of the historical heritage.

It's a master that addresses the complexity of the work with the historical heritage, using criteria of interdisciplinarity and territorialization, and the use of new technologies, under criteria advanced in the protection of cultural property. It moves so compartmentalized University teaching, of each qualification, and enters the real scenario where managed assets of particular relevance.

His teaching is adapted to receive students from engineering and architecture profiles, Arts and Humanities and social sciences and law, commonalities are expressed with the heritage experienced.

The master:

The master course according to two locations options: 100% in Seville either a 65% (theoretical and practical) based in Seville of the IAPH and a 35% (practices) in Granada at the headquarters of the Patronage of the Alhambra and Generalife.

Master with verification by the Agency national of evaluation of the quality and accreditation (ANECA) and the Agency Andalusian of the knowledge who manages its monitoring and accreditation. Gives access through its two specialities to doctoral programs with similar lines of research within the EHEA, which include, for example, the architecture doctoral programme of the University of Seville, on development of current legislation.

Requirements:

Degrees with a high preference for access:

Architect/o, Roads engineer/o, Channels and ports, Lcda/o. Social and Cultural Anthropology, Lcda/o. Fine arts, Lcda/o. Right, Lcda/o. Documentation, Lcda/o. Geography, Lcda/o. History, Lcda/o. History of art, Lcda/o. Humanities, Lcda/o. in journalism, Degree in conservation and restoration of cultural property, Degree in engineering or science and technology building, Degree in design, Degree in management culture and degree in tourism. Or similar qualifications and their equivalents in the Bachelor's degrees by Spain, or the equivalent that exist in other States within the EHEA.

Foreign students with non-Spanish origin language should be consulted in the Secretariat of the school of architecture possible accreditations for the Spanish language skills requirement before reaching the qualification, in accordance with the regulations of the University of Seville.

Credits needed: 60 ECTS. Credits offered: 70 ECTS.

  1. CURRICULUM AND PROGRAM. MASTER THESIS

OBJECTIVES

1. Qualify both to level theoretical as practical to those researchers University, professionals and

  1. HEADQUARTERS

Classrooms:

HOME SEVILLE

Classes are usually developed in the Andalusian historical heritage Institute. The way of those discoveries, 1. La Cartuja Island. 41092-Seville.

HEADQUARTERS GRANADA

Students may choose to develop practices of materials 4, 6, 7 and 9 (approx.. the 35% of the teaching classroom) at the headquarters of Granada from the Patronato de la Alhambra and Generalife (Palace of Carlos V, Alhambra. Granada) or in Seville (headquarters of the IAPH). These classes will have schedule regular alternating approximately one in Granada with another in Seville, from January onwards of 2017, for students which will accept the Granada option. The remaining teaching is offered at the headquarters of the Andalusian historical heritage Institute.

 

  1. FACULTY

The bulk of the teaching staff of the University of Seville available for the master has acquired much of its experience in training on heritage thanks to its participation in the teaching of the diploma and official title implemented according to RD 56/2005, both under the name of Master in architecture and historical heritage.

Therefore, from 1995 is has gone forming a body teaching specialized in providing teaching of level master in matter of architecture and heritage historical, with a training of base prior in the school technical Superior of architecture of Seville and other centers of this University (Fine arts, Geography and history, Engineering, Building engineering, etc.).

In this masters is produced the participation of lecturers invited in a coordinated manner and with presence and permanent follow-up of teaching staff of the University of Seville.

Guest teachers are:

-Professors from other Spanish universities, European (Portugal, Italy…) and Latin American. With special protagonism of professors of the University of Granada to the headquarters in that city.

-Researchers of the Superior Council of scientific research. Especially school of

Studies Arab for the case Granada.

-Technicians from the administration of estate (Ministry of culture, Andalusian Institute of heritage, Board of the Alhambra and of the Generalife and of its Commission technical, Museum Directors…), of the local administration and State when necessary because of the chosen practice, etc.

-Professionals and consultants of relevance on the national and international scene, in matters inherent to the master.

Entrepreneurship module (Labor and professional orientation):

The Master imparts an additional theme module (voluntary and free) expressly dedicated to entrepreneurship, seeking orientation researcher, Professional, Labour and business in the field of heritage.

Attendees receive the corresponding certification.

The Organization of the title article obtaining stays and business practices to students and graduates of the master, acting as a facilitator of the same, within individual petitions.

It should be noted his presence in the ranking of most outstanding master of Spain's, annually published by Diario El Mundo.

The MARPH has signed agreements with the Andalusian historical heritage Institute, business public agency that is accredited in the Andalusian knowledge system as a Research Institute.

Has agreements signed with institutions management of heritage world declared by the UNESCO, case of the Tourist Board of the Alhambra and the Generalife and the Board of Trustees of the Real Alcázar and Casa Consistorial del Sevilla.

He has received the nomination for World Heritage cities prizes, in 2014 and 2015.
